A luxury boutique hotel, Pigeon Island Beach Resort is located on a secluded beach in Nilaveli, north of Trincomalee on the east coast of Sri Lanka.

Nilaveli is known the world over for its year-round sunshine, colourful coral reefs, warm blue-ocean and soft, white sandy beaches, which is mixed with mineral-rich black sand, unique to this coastal strip.

The décor of the hotel is minimalistic, with a few pieces of curios such as old wooden door frames and a wooden elephant carving dating back to the Dutch period.

Environment

We take environmental conservation very seriously. We house three water treatment plants, one which purifies the water used at the hotel. The second treatment plant is for the swimming pool, while the third is a refinery plant used to treat sewage water which is then re-used for the trees and plants in the hotel compound. Our hotel staff organizes regular beach clean ups because we believe in the protecting the environment.
